Sunday morning.
In bed.
Chilly.
Duvet pulled up to my chin.

House empty.
Endless possibilities.
Restraint.
I wait.

Your call.

Pride

Expert cut,
Designer clothes.
Clothes maketh the man.
They say.
Perhaps.
But you know better.
Rugged jaw,
Ice blue eyes,
The hair, styled carefully, just so.

You smile.
Strike a pose.
Ah yeah!
The deadly ensemble.
Who could resist!
The man maketh the clothes.

Lust

I
think
I
may
spontaneously
combust
at
just
the
thought
of
your
lips’
touch.
I
think
I
am
in lust
with you.

You’ve Got Mail

You’ve got mail.
An invitation to an exciting new group
And an offer that could change your life.

You’ve got mail.
A reminder to renew your subscription
And an offer that might change your life.

You’ve got mail.
Two notifications from Facebook
And an offer that may change your life.

You’ve got mail.
Three suggestions to follow on twitter
And an offer that would change your life.

You’ve got mail.
One invitation, one reminder, two notifications, three suggestions.
Deleted.
And the offer that will change your life.
Saved.

In the bathroom a tap drips
Mercilessly.
In my head thoughts swirl
Relentlessly.
In the bedroom,
Hopelessly
Caught in the current,
I am awake.

Life lessons

I’m learning to live
Without you.
It’s not easy.
I haven’t mastered it
Yet.
Maybe I never will.
But I’m learning.
To live.
Without you.

Depictions of dreams
Shout from the walls
Bold and Brassy
Screaming with confidence.
Others, more shyly scribed
Whisper their hopes
Quiet and calm
But no less certain.
